Windsong beautifully punctuates the entrance to a residential community in Prosper, Texas. The wind blowing through the trees, the variety of birds, rolling hills, ponds, lakes, and lush grass were inspiration for this 85-foot-long and 25-foot-tall sculpture. Brad Oldham chose stainless steel for the sculpture’s material so the artwork would appear very fluid, like a stream of air. The way this sturdy metal is twisted and shaped requires master skills. The mirror-polished finish of the stainless steel picks up ambient colors and light, which results in a low-maintenance, low-tech, naturally dynamic installation that will change throughout the day and year.
