Conrad Trees
Chicago, Illinois | Brass | 13' x 18' x 24"
Every tree has a story and these hand-formed brass pieces were born of collaboration between the artist and client to create a gateway welcome into the hotel at the street level. Guests walk through the sculptural trees to the elevator to reach the lobby on the 20th floor. The midcentury modern feel echoes Chicago’s unique skyline of skyscrapers in this style. With Chicago architects like Ludwig Mies va der Rohe, it is easy to associate midcentury modern with downtown Chicago. The Conrad Trees installation garners attention from guests and passerby alike.
